May 4 (GMM) Ferrari might be gearing up to incorporate a 'double-DRS' setup aboard its improving F2012 car.
If true, the famous Italian team would be the first team to successfully emulate the controversial Mercedes system, which has been declared fully legal by the governing FIA.
Germany's Auto Motor und Sport said a new rear wing was among the very last upgrades to be trialled by Fernando Alonso as the Mugello test concluded late on Thursday.
"The wing has only minor changes. You have to look closely," read the report.
The magazine reported rumours that the wing might eventually accommodate the so-called 'double-DRS' or 2012-style F-duct, which would work in conjunction with a new and so far unseen front wing.
"That (wing) will debut along with a new diffuser and nose in Barcelona," added Auto Motor und Sport.
There were happy faces in the Ferrari garage on Thursday, as - despite a minor off by Alonso - the upgrades appeared to work well.
"Barcelona will be a key moment in the season, but not a decisive one," the Spanish driver insisted.
"It's not a case that we will suddenly find ourselves back on pole position, because there is no magic button."
Echoing the earlier words of Mark Webber, Alonso said the "fastest car" at Mugello this week was the Lotus.
Red Bull's Dr Helmut Marko agrees: "It looks like Lotus are the quickest."
Veteran Swiss correspondent Roger Benoit wrote in Blick newspaper: "Lotus, with Kimi Raikkonen in super shape, is the championship dark horse."

In Jerez they first tested the launch configuration....which as we all know, unfortunately failed....
in this configuration ferrari was trying to use downwash from above the sidepods to direct the exhaust gases to the brake duct fins....

when they saw that it didnt work...they gave a shot at blowing the rear wing...
which was abandoned, probably because it gave very little performance gains...

they then tried to use the coanda effect in addition to the downwash to direct the exhaust gases to the diffuser...
as you can see here..the small extension was added in front of the lower part of the exhausts to take advantage of the coanda effect...

Barcelona test:
In Barcelona the brought yet another configuration...this time blowing at the beam wing...the exhaust needed to be deflected at a much lower angle so it was more predictable...ferrari used this configuration for the 1st 4 races f the season...

Mugello test:
On the first day at Mugello they tried this configuration...which featured a much longer extension in front of the lower part of the exhaust, which was described by many as a tongue, to try and deflect the exhaust gases to the diffuser again using the coanda effect and downwash but this time (believed) more effectively....additionally vanes were added on the floor to direct the exhaust gases...

On the third and final day of the Mugello test, ferrari brought new sidepods with the acer ducts almost completely gone...the goal of this configuration is to again blow the upgraded and now detached from the crash structure beam wing without blocking the flow to the rest of the beam wing as the original acer ducts did...
EDIT 2: I have removed the suspension parts and drive shafts to improve the visibility because it was looking too messy and no real detail could be shown

Larger upgrades will be brought in Barcelona next week which i believe will feature the newer sidepods with modified exhausts to deflect the exhaust plume at the diffuser....
Το προβλημα της ferrari δεν ειναι μονο αεροδυναμικο... εχει και θεματα μηχανικα το οποιο το ειδαμε το χειμωνα οταν στα long stints αλλαζε το balance του μονοθεσιου συνεχως. Οταν αλλαζει το balance => δεν φταιει το aero configuration.
Το προβλημα της ferrari δεν ειναι μονο αεροδυναμικο... εχει και θεματα μηχανικα το οποιο το ειδαμε το χειμωνα οταν στα long stints αλλαζε το balance του μονοθεσιου συνεχως. Οταν αλλαζει το balance => δεν φταιει το aero configuration.
Στο τελευταίο τέστ , αυτό φάνηκε να έχει μάλλον τελειώσει. Θα δουμε.

Είχαμε δοκιμαστικά σήμερα....εκεί που πήγε να δει χαρά στα σκέλια του κάνας Ιταλός ήρθε το FP2 και τους τα χάλασε:lol:
Πάντως ο αγώνας παραμένει γρίφος και πάλι ως φαίνεται τα ελαστικά και η διαχείριση τους θα δώσουν τον νικητή.
Πιστευω γερνει για lotus... πολυ καλη στα long stint + με καλη τελικη για προσπερασματα = καλο race result (αν δεν εχουν προβληματα και αν ο καιρος ειναι ιδιος με σημερα).

FERRARI 'DANGEROUS' WITH NEW B CAR - VETTEL
Saturday 12 May at 08:35 : May 12 (GMM) Ferrari's heavily upgraded F2012 has caught the eye of reigning world champion and last-start winner Sebastian Vettel.
The famous Italian team and its lead driver Fernando Alonso have tried to play down the improvements made to the recently struggling red car.
"It was good acting," said Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo's correspondent Livio Oricchio on Friday.
"The truth is that Ferrari have debuted a new car. Almost everything is different."
Red Bull's Vettel has spotted the same thing.
"If you ask me, Ferrari are dangerous," Bild newspaper quotes the German as saying on Friday.
The 'B' Ferrari features new front and rear wings, floor, sidepods, engine cover, exhaust and brake ducts.
"A total reconstruction for a million euros," said the newspaper.
Alonso was quickest on Friday morning in Barcelona but then a long way down the order in P2. He played down his victory chances.
But Vettel's boss Dr Helmut Marko insists: "They (Ferrari) have become really fast."

Αν τα long stints του FP είναι ενδεικτικά όμως οι Lotus έχουν πλεονέκτημα.

Απ'οσο θυμαμαι ο κανονας λεει οτι για να ισχυει η Pole ο οδηγος πρεπει να γυρισει κανονικα στα pit και μαλιστα, παλαιοτερα, ειχαν και κανονα να μην αργει πολυ στο slow-lap-in. Βεβαια δεν εχω το regulation handbook ανα χειρας αλλα αυτο θυμαμαι.

Lewis Hamilton and McLaren are facing a stewards' investigation after he stopped on track following his pole position lap at the Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday.
Under the regulations drivers are required to return to the pits after setting their time with at least 1 litre of fuel left in the tank for a fuel sample. The only circumstance in which a driver can avoid a penalty is if the car stopped on track for reasons of force majeure.
McLaren has said Hamilton stopped on track because of a technical issue and will argue that that means he should keep his pole position.
"There was a technical problem that led to that situation," Martin Whitmarsh told media on Saturday evening. "I would obviously believe that is force majeure, but it's up to the stewards to decide."
He added: "There was enough fuel to take a fuel sample but we stopped the car and we're now talking to the stewards about that. There was 1.3 litres of fuel taken out of the car."
Asked if McLaren would have to show that they would have been able to make it back to the pits and still present a fuel sample, Whitmarsh said: "I think the regulations are that you had to do that lap unless there's a force majeure and I think that's the discussion that will probably happen."
Whitmarsh would not reveal the technical problem ahead of the team's meeting with the stewards, but said it did not impede the performance of the car.
Asked if he'd felt any issues with the car, Hamilton added: "No I didn't. The lap was fantastic for me. The team came on the radio to say I had to stop the car because of a technical problem. Then I stopped, but I was so excited about the car I didn't even think about it."
McLaren is expecting a ruling on the decision tonight and potential penalties could include a five-place grid penalty or the deletion of Hamilton's best time. Either penalty would drop him to sixth place on the grid.

Εαν εκανε τον υπολοιπο γυρο σιγουρα θα ετρωγε 300 ml καυσιμο... οποτε στο scrutineering θα ηταν ακυρος. Αρα ουτως ή αλλως πρεπει να φαει τη ποινη. Εντωμεταξυ στο market "first lap leader" ξαφνικα απ'το 1.66 (ham) εκανε jump στο 3 και ο maldonando απ'το 4 πηγε <2... συνεπακολουθα επεσαν και alonso/grosjean.

Αν εγινε το σκηνικο για το καυσιμο ειναι απαραδεκτοι για 2 λογους.
1) Γιατι πουλουσαν τρελιτσα οτι δεν εχουν ιδεα τι εχει το μονοθεσιο...
2) Γιατι το ξανακανανε προπερσι στον Καναδα το ιδιο σκηνικο.
Βεβαια τοτε τους τη χαρισανε και δεν φαγανε ποινη. Ελπιζω να φανε την καμπανα τωρα :evil:

Δηλαδή από την McLaren μας είπαν ότι υπήρχε ένα πρόβλημα στο μονοθέσιο, αδιευκρίνιστο ή άγνωστο (δηλαδή κρυφό), το οποίο δεν επέτρεψε να ολοκληρωθεί ο γύρος εισόδου, αλλά δεν επηρρέασε και την απόδοση. Και συν τοις άλλοις, έμεινε 1.3 λίτρα στο ντεπόζιτο.

Η McLaren ενώ φαίνεται να έχει το πιο ολοκληρωμένο μονοθέσιο (έστω με τις μικρές διαφορές που υπάρχουν φέτος) κάνει ό,τι μπορεί από την αρχή της σαιζόν για να το ακυρώσει.
Εγώ πάλι σας το ειπα.. ετσι να μαθαίνουν εκεί στη McLaren... Από την άλλη περιμένω και το τέλος του αγώνα για να μιλήσω για τη Ferrari...:whistle:

Μπράβο στη Williams, και στον Μαλντονάντο. Μετά από 8 χρόνια ειδαν νίκη.
Η Ferrari πιστευω πλέον δείχνει ότι έκανε βήματα μπροστά.

Εγώ δεν είδα καμία Ferrari, παρά μόνο έναν Αλόνσο στα γνωστό υψηλό επίπεδο.
Ρε παιδια η lotus θα μας τρελανει? Τη μια αφηνει το Κιμι με 30 γυρους λαστιχα μεχρι να διαλυθουν και σημερα μου εβαζε μια τα soft και μια το πηγαινε με long-pitting μεχρι οι αλλοι να της ανοιξουν ενα gap ΝΑΑΑΑΑΑ.
Με μακραν το γρηγοροτερο μονοθεσιο, πως @@@@@ καταφερε και εχασε ενα σιγουρο 1-2 μονο οι ιδιοι το ξερουν.

Αν ανοίξεις τα μάτια σου θα τη δείς. Για την ακρίβεια θα δεις μια τρομερά βελτιωμένη Ferrari και ένα Massa που κανένας δε καταλαβαίνει τι κάνει στη Ferrari.

Έτσι όπως έχει πάει το πράγμα το πρωτάθλημα θα το πάρει εκείνος που θα κάνει τα λιγότερα λάθη (δηλαδή όχι η McLaren :p). Έτσι όπως τους βλέπω τώρα κάτι μου κάθεται σε Lotus και Ferrari.

Το πρωτάθλημα βλέπω να πηγαίνει στον Κίμι και δεν χρειάζεται καν να κάνει νίκη αν συνεχίσουν έτσι τα πράματα...

Μπραβο στο Maldonado. Ταχυτατος και αλανθαστος.
Μπραβο και στον Alonso. Για μια ακομα φορα, καταφερε να κερδισει ταχυτερα μονοθεσια. Με αυτα και με εκεινα, οδηγει τον τιτλο με αυτη τη μετριοτατη Ferrari !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Μπραβο στη Ferrari για τη βελτιωση. Ελπιζω να εχουμε συνεχεια !
Μπραβο στο Grosjean. Το 3ο stint του ηταν TΡΟΜΕΡΟ.
Μπραβο και στο Hamilton. Εκανε τρομερο αγωνα και το απιστευτο της υποθεσης ειναι οτι εκανε ενα pit stop λιγοτερο απο τους αλλους. Στο τελος πεταξε τη σποντουλα του "...αυτο να το βλεπουν οσοι λενε οτι ο Button κανει καλυτερη διαχειρηση ελαστικων..."

Αν οδηγουσε αυτη τη Renault o Alonso, θα ηταν καμια 20αρια βαθμους μπροστα απο το δευτερο τωρα.
Ακομα και εχθες, ο Grosjean ηταν ισος ή ταχυτερος του Kimi. Ο πιτσιρικας εχασε το μισο αγωνα πισω απο αλλους και ο Kimi ειχε καθαρο αερα απο την αρχη μεχρι το τελος. Τελικα ο Φινλανδος του εριξε ΜΟΝΟ 10" και στο τελευταιο stint ο Γαλλος τον μαζευε με 6-7 δεκατα το γυρο !!!

Ηθελα να ειμαι απο μια μερια να βλεπω τον MNP-10 εκεινη την ωρα.
Eδω ειδαμε μερικα απο χαρακτηριστικα για τα οποια κραζει το Schumi.
Μειωμενη αντιληψη, αργη αντιδραση, λανθασμενη αισθηση του χωρου.
Λαθος αρχαριου αυτο το χθεσινο.

Συμφωνώ για την ταχύτητα του Grosjean, αλλά φαίνεται επιρρεπής σε λάθη και ασταθής στην απόδοση του. Δεν είναι κάποιο μεγάλο ταλέντο που θα σαρώσει τα επόμενα χρόνια. Γι αυτό πιστεύω ότι ο Κίμι θα το σηκώσει φέτος και ότι η Ρενώ μπορεί να πάρει και το κατασκευαστών αφού για μένα φαντάζει η πιο σταθερή ομάδα. Πολλά θα εξαρτηθούν και από το πόση πρόοδο θα κάνει η Φερράρι, διότι το μονοθέσιο της σκουντερία έχει ΤΕΡΑΣΤΙΑ περιθώρια βελτίωσης σε σχέση με το υπόλοιπο γκριντ.

Δεν ήταν μετριότατη και στον Καναδά έχει και νέο update;)
Κατι σου είχα πει για B-SPec εσένα, και πρακτικά παρουσιάστηκε στην Ισπανία... και έχει συνέχεια το πράγμα.
