Οκ ανοιχτότατο το qt όπως και ο linux kernel. Η διαφορά είναι οτι αν φύγει πχ η intel από την ανάπτυξη του kernel δεν χάλασε ο κόσμος, υπάρχουν 500 άλλες εταιρίες και άλλοι τόσοι ερασιτέχνες. Ισχύουν τα ίδια και για το qt;
πάλι παραπληροφόρηση;

Nokia Corp. will sell its Qt commercial licensing and services business to technology services firm Digia PLC, both companies said Monday.
Nokia acquired Trolltech, a small Norweigen firm, and its Qt technology, which allows software developers to write applications once, and then have them work on multiple operating systems, in 2008 for $153 million.
As recently as October, Stephen Elop, Nokia chief executive, expressed support for Qt (pronounced "cute") by announcing that Nokia would only use the software to create apps for its phones. The idea was to make it easier for developers to create applications for Symbian.
However, Qt's fate has been in question since Mr. Elop announced last month that Nokia would abandon Symbian and that Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Phone software would be its primary smartphone software going forward.
At the company's strategy briefing in London, where the deal was announced, Mr. Elop said that the company would continue to support Qt on Symbian smartphones, but he said the software wouldn't reside on its up-coming Windows smartphones, for fear that would "potentially confuse the developers and confuse the consumers and create an environment where Windows phone moves slower than the competition."
In a blog post, Sebastian Nyström, who heads Qt for Nokia, said that these professional services aren't a core business for Nokia, and that the company started searching last year for a partner to help serve commercial licenses. He said Nokia would continue to support Qt and those who use the software with investments in marketing, research and development and other activities. "We want to emphasize our long-term commitment to Qt," Mr. Nyström said in the blog post.
As a part of the acquisition, Digia will handle the licensing and provide support and services to the roughly 3500 companies that use QT commercially going forward. The Helsinki, Finland based company will also employ 19 people from Nokia, who previously worked with QT customers. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close at the end of this month, weren't disclosed.
"We are excited to extend our Qt business to serve our new customers," Harri Paani, Senior Vice President from Digia, said in a statement.
