Apache 2.4 σχετικά με vhosts και localhost

Γεια σε όλους,

χρησιμοποιώ τον apache για web ανάπτυξη τοπικά. Είχα μια παλιότερη έκδοση του apache και είχα προσθέσει virtual hosts (με τις κατάλληλες προσθήκες στο αρχείο hosts) για να δουλεύω τοπικά με διευθύνσεις τύπου www.example.local αντί για localhost/example.

Παρόλα αυτά είχα πρόσβαση στο site και με τις δύο διευθύνσεις. Δηλαδή είτε έγραφα στον browser example.local είτε localhost/example άνοιγε η ίδια σελίδα.

Πράγμα ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμο καθώς όταν άνοιγα το site στον "έξω κόσμο" -για να μπορεί να δει κάποιος άλλος ζωντανά την εξέλιξη του development- δεν χρειαζόταν να πειράξει το δικό του αρχείο hosts, καθώς έμπαινε με το url "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port/example", όπου xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx η δική μου δυναμική ip.

Πρόσφατα έκανα αναβάθμιση σε apache 2.4 αλλά δεν μπορώ να πετύχω την ίδια συμπεριφορά. Αν ορίσω virtual host είναι αδύνατη η πρόσβαση μέσω localhost/example. Για την ακρίβεια ο server δεν απαντά και ο browser μετατρέπει το url σε www.localhost.com/example. Ταυτόχρονα δουλεύουν μέσω localhost τα υπόλοιπα site για τα οποία δεν έχω ορίσει virtual host σε κάποια τοπική διεύθυνση.

Έχει κανείς καμιά ιδέα;

Σε τι λειτουργικό δουλεύεις;

Αν είσαι σε linux, είσαι σίγουρος ότι υπάρχει το localhost στο /etc/hosts σου; Κάνε ένα ping localhost να σιγουρευτείς.
Αν βάλεις apache2 -S ή http2 -S ανάλογα με το ποιο είναι το binary του apache σου, τί σου βγάζει;

Σε win7 είμαι. Το localhost απαντά κανονικά. Ολα τα site ειναι αποθηκευμενα σε υποφακελους του φακελου www. Πχ www/example, www/another-project κλπ.

Τα site για τα οποία δεν εχω ορισει virtual host δουλευουν μια χαρα με το localhost.

Το προβλημα ειναι με τα site για τα οποια εχω ορισει virtual host. Αυτα δουλευουν με τις διευθυνσεις τυπου example.local και οχι με localhost/example παροτι ειναι εγκατεστημενα στον φακελο www/example (ή htdocs/example).

Μπορείς σε ένα command prompt να πας στο folder που είναι το executable του apache και να γράψεις: apache2 -S
Τι βγάζει;

Αν καταλαβαίνω καλά, έχεις και άλλα site που εξυπηρετούνται από το localhost. Αν είναι έτσι, πως θα ξεχωρίσει ο apache τα sites από το servername αφού σε όλες τις περιπτώσεις θα είναι localhost; Δεν έχω δει το configuration σου οπότε είναι δύσκολο να κρίνω έτσι.

Κάτι άλλο που μπορείς να κάνεις, είναι για κάθε site που θέλεις να βλέπεις τοπικά, να φτιάξεις ένα δικό σου hostname, πχ localsite1, localsite2 κλπ, και να τα βάλεις όλα αυτά τα sites στο hosts σου στην 127.0.0.1 και μετά να βάλεις αυτά τα hostnames στα virtualhost και στον browser να βάζεις localsite1 αντί για localhost/example

Υπάρχει ένας φάκελος (στο δικό μου setup λέγεται www) τα περιεχόμενα του οποίου, σερβίρει ο apache και μεταγλωττίζει η php. Αν λοιπόν εκεί έχεις μια δομή:

www/index.php
www/something.html

Για να δεις αυτά τα αρχεία αρκεί να δώσεις στον broswer localhost και localhost/something.html αντίστοιχα. Όταν όμως αναπτύσσεις περισσότερα από ένα site, τα βάζεις μέσα σε φακέλους:

www/mysite1
www/mysite2
www/mysite3
κλπ

Άρα η default συμπεριφορά είναι να δώσεις στον broswer localhost/mysite1, localhost/mysite2 και localhost/mysite3 αντίστοιχα.

Μέχρι εδώ όλα καλά.

Τώρα ας υποθέσουμε ότι θέλουμε το site3 να απαντά τοπικά μέσω της διεύθυνσης www.mysite3.local.

Τότε ενεργοποιώ το virtual hosts του apache (δες το παραπάνω httpd-vhosts) και ορίζω το www/mysite3 να απαντά μέσω της www.mysite3.local. Επίσης δίνω και μια εγγραφή στο αρχείο hosts

127.0.0.1      www.mysite3.local

ώστε ο browser να κατευθύνει τη διεύθυνση τοπικά και όχι στον dns server.

Τότε αν δώσω στον www.mysite3.local θα ανοίξει το mysite3.

Και εδώ είναι η ερώτησή μου:

Στις παλιότερες εκδόσεις του apache, το mysite3 θα απαντούσε και με τους δύο τρόπους. Δηλαδή και μέσω www.mysite3.local και μέσω localhost/mysite3. Με τη 2.4 απαντά μόνο με τον πρώτο και όχι με τον δεύτερο.

Τα άλλα δύο site απαντούν κανονικά μέσω localhost αφού δεν έχω ορίσει για αυτά virtual host.

Παιδιά τελικά βρήκα τι συμβαίνει.

Μου έκοψε και δοκίμασα να ορίσω virtual host για ένα άλλο site και δούλεψε και με τους 2 τρόπους!!

Τελικά σε αυτό το site που έκανα τις δοκιμές είχα ρυθμίσει για λόγους seo, το htaccess να βάζει prefix -αν δεν υπάρχει- το www. Έτσι ο server απαντούσε κανονικά στο localhost/example αλλά έβαζε μπροστά το prefix www και φυσικά έβγαζε μήνυμα λάθους αφού γινόταν www.localhost/example.

Συγνώμη για το χρόνο που σπατάλησα σε όσους ασχολήθηκαν.

Ένα χρήσιμο συμπέρασμα είναι ότι τις δοκιμές για το configuration να μην τις κάνω ποτέ με ένα παλιό project αλλά με ένα test/index.html που να περιέχει ένα Hello World.

Για την ιστορία το configuration που πόσταρα παραπάνω δουλεύει κανονικά.
