Infostrada launches “Canonezero”, eliminating the line rental for ever and with immediate effect
Three flat-rate propositions for all communication needs without
changing telephone number
The process of liberalizing Italy’s fixed-line market is about to be completed with the launch of
Infostrada’s “canonezero” proposition.
The offer is directed at over 10 million households and 2 million businesses, who can finally wave
goodbye once and for all to the line rental paid to the incumbent operator, with immediate effect and
without changing telephone number, and thereby gaining access to all the integrated services offered by
the Wind Group.
The option of cancelling the subscription to the incumbent operator is from today a reality.
The “canonezero” proposition is linked to alternative operators’ use of the last mile of the incumbent’s
network, connecting urban exchanges to houses, offices and businesses.
Infostrada’s “Canonezero” offer marks a further turning point for Italy’s fixed-line tariffs and services.
Subscription to the new service will lead to the immediate abolition of the line rental for customers
signing up via Unbundling, who will thus be disconnected from the incumbent’s network and hooked
up to Infostrada’s platform. The big news is that, until December 31, 2002, customers awaiting
activation of the new service will have the full cost of the line rental due to the incumbent deducted
from their monthly telephone bill.
Whatever the case, their telephone number and access to additional services will remain unaffected.
“CanoneZero”, which provides the advantages of Wind’s convergence of fixed-line, mobile and
Internet communications into one single telephone bill, offers three flat-rate tariffs with no connection
costs or advances payment of calls.
“CanoneZero Voce”, at a cost of only €37.95 a month (VAT included), allows users to make
unlimited local and long-distance calls and benefit from extremely advantageous rates for Internet
connection (connections to Wind POPs at 0.95 cents a minute, after a minimum call charge of 6.20
cents) and international calls. Moreover, thanks to the benefits of convergence, by choosing the Noi
Tre option, calls from an Infostrada fixed-line phone to one or more Wind cell phones are even
better value for money, with a flat-rate charge of 4.95 cents a minute available 24 hours a day (after
a minimum call charge of 12.50 cents from a fixed-line phone and of 15 cents from a mobile).
“CanoneZero ADSL”, at a cost of only €24.95 a month (VAT included), offers unlimited ADSL
connection up to next December 31, when the charge will be only 50 cents a day after the first 20
minutes free of charge. This package also offers voice services providing the value for money of
Infostrada MinutoZero, the price plan that has reduced the cost of the first minute of all local and
long-distance calls to zero after payment of the minimum call charge.
“CanoneZero Voce&ADSL”, finally, combines the above propositions, offering the quality of the
new broadband ADSL offer and the great value for money of the Voice offer for all calls made
from home, at a monthly price of €62.90 (VAT included).
“CanoneZero” means that additional services, such as Call Minder, Call Transfer and Three-way
conversation, will be free, as will calls to the so-called “non-geographical” numbers, including the
emergency services (112,113,118,115), public services (117,1515,1530 1580…), the Customer Care
lines of telephone operators, Audiotel information, free phone numbers and information services.
