Downloads: SpeedTouch and NAT (Network Address Translation)

This application note provides technical information on Network Address Translation (NAT) support in SpeedTouch™ products. As an introduction, we present why NAT is so valuable in a WAN router. Secondly, we give a technical description of how NAT works and we describe the different NAT techniques available on the SpeedTouch™ router. Then, we explain how to configure each of these NAT techniques on the SpeedTouch™ products. The last section of this document focuses on NAT applications compatibility and mentions any additional configuration required to support specific applications across NAT in the SpeedTouch™.
