I am happy to report they have dug my street yesterday and finished the works near my house today. 2 years and 3 months ago I have made an ADSL connection to the house and I had asked the Cosmote technician when are they digging for VDSL or fiber and he said: "I don't know. When you see them …" Now I saw them!

The activation was postponed from Q2 2020 to Q1 2021 but at least they made the ground works in time. So the countdown begins. My voucher is ready.

New works near Dafni A/K from 26/2 to 29/2 on Karampampa and Themistokleous streets (173 43 Agios Dimitrios). The photos are in the album.

From 3/3 to 6/3 they are working on Klearchou street. One of the guys told me they are going to work continuously in the area, street by street. This confirms the information on SFBB.gr and EETT spreadsheets. Activation one year from now (Q1 2021) seems realistic to me.

Excellent news for me, Dafni will get FTTH in Q2 2020! Confirmed in the 2nd yearly OTE assignment file and in sfbb.gr.

I have uploaded some photos from July to the album. Streets Ethnarchou Makariou (at bus station Gravias), Tripoleos (between Leof. Vouliagmenis and Eth. Antistaseos), Idomenis. Contractor: Link S.A. Short works, connecting about three houses at a time. Seems very ad-hoc. At this pace Dafni will be covered in decades, not years. It is very confusing.

Hey neighbour! I'm in 451-166, if you want we can cry on each other's shoulder. :p At least you have Forthnet ADSL, it is faster than Cosmote. Also my next door neighbour has Forthnet and it is 2 Mbps faster than my Cosmote connection.

Cabins in the area (and in the photos) are 451-114, 451-121, 451-149. I haven't seen any new cabins.

You have missed 50% discount on F1 TV PRO too, it was offered until 17 of February.

I have successfully cancelled Cosmote TV. 5 days before the end of the 1 year contract is enough time for them to process the request. BTW the support person from 13888 told me they would not give money back for 1 month as it was prepaid until 15/02. They tried to trick me into cancelling on 15/02 but their information was not correct. I cancelled on 21/01 and the rest of prepay until 15/02 was deducted from the next bill. I should have cancelled on 12/01 as originally planned to get a fully 1 month refund.

Are you sure there is not a mistake on Cosmote availability check? Do you see any OTE VDSL cabins near your house? They look like this:

You may also check the map, click on VDSL OTE and see if there are any near you.

After 4 days they called me from 13888. They told me I can contact them again 5 days before the commitment runs out to make a request for termination the contract.

That went better than expected. I hope they stick to their word.

I have 1 month left on my Cosmote TV contract and I wish to cancel the service in the end. How to cancel properly? Do I have to give them 1 month notice?

That’s why in this country there is no problem. Because we don’t have the option to choose between VDSL and FTTH. So there is no misleading.

Sarcasm? VDSL 50 packages were rebranded to Fiber 50. A cunning plan. :) You can rename a donkey to a horse. In reality it's still a donkey.

I don't care if the speed is 200 Mbps - if I have VDSL modem in the house it is VDSL and NOT fiber. In my country we have had VDSL since 2005, everyone knows it isn't fiber. There is no way they would sell you fiber package and you would get VDSL modem. No sir! And everyone wants to switch from VDSL to fiber.

It is important.

The marketing people here should be hanging from trees by their precious copper "fiber" wire ...

Akropoleos 18, Fornezi 45 and Filaretou 114 are active as well - the fans are running.

Kalimnou street and yes, the phone number does start with 21097.

The phone line has been installed recently. The technician told me I am approximately 1 km from exchange, that the area has been assigned to OTE but that he doesn't know when it would be upgraded, "maybe one year", "when you see the new cabin" etc. :whistle: So now I have measly 11 Mbps ADSL.

Any news regarding VDSL Dafni? Isn't OTE supposed to upgrade to it by Q4 2017? Where are the excavators, the cables and the new cabins? I have only seen some works for the natural gas I think. So many questions, so few answers.

I spoke to a clerk at Wind Davaki store, she said she is not sure but probably in January 2018. Might only be a guess, though.
