if you apply for FTTH, you have to change to a 100Mbps contract. If you apply to get a Voucher from sfbb.gr, you will have a monthly Discount of 13EUR for 2 years on your Cosmote bill + a free ftth installation / setup. I am not sure if you still can apply for a Voucher or not.

VDSL and FTTH has the same monthly price. You dont pay at the moment extra for Fiberspeed, Cosmote just renamed the paket from DoublePlay to FiberSpeed. The Name FiberSpeed has nothing to do with VDSL or FTTH.

In any case, even if you are the only person who apply for FTTH, Cosmote will install FTTH in the whole building, so every apartment can use it (even if nobody wants it). No extra cost for you. Also not for the installation in the 4th floor.

Cosmote will keep your VDSL Line online until you are connected to FTTH. There is no Downtime at all. My VDSL line was still active for over 1 month.

Cosmote will ask a signature of the building manager that he is agree to install FTTH in your Building.
Even if he is not agree, there is a law that you can continue the installation without hes signature as a owner of your apartment.

Compared to COSMOTE VDSL, my ping with COSMOTE FTTH is better. Specially in APEX (Frankfurt, London, Belgium)

There will be no problem with the mini ups from OTE, the mini ups can support anything from 12v/0.001A up to 12V/1A
If the device ask for 0.5A is the current that the mini ups will provide

I spoke with Cosmote few days ago and the technican told me by phone that i can not use the Mini UPS for the Nokia ONT cause of the Ampere reason.

But this Mini UPS is not working for the Nokia ONT. Your Nokia ONT has a Input of 12V / 0.5A but the Mini UPS has a Output of 12 V / 1.0A.
This means the Mini UPS has to much Ampere.

The best solution is, to purchase a APC UPS for your Router + Nokia ONT + PC.

Appointment on behalf of OTE with 2 very friendly ladies to plan the entire fiber optic process.

21/01/2020:

Start: 08:00
- Installation/laying of fiber from the street into the building and to my apartment
- Installation of fiber optics and placement of fiber boxes in the building (a main box in the basement + one smaller box in each floor)
- Placement of the glass fiber box in my apartment
End: 17:00

All work was completed on the same day.
All technicians worked very cleanly and aesthetically

31/01/2020:

Start: 08:30
- Fiber optic cabling (all 6 floors)
- Measure fiber optic lines (all 6 floors + in my apartment)
End: 14:30

13/02/2020:
Start: 9:30
- Appointment with the OTE technician
- Hardware received from the OTE technician (NOKIA G-010G-Q + SERCOM SPEEDPORT PLUS) (i replaced the router with a FritzBox 7590)
- Activation of the fiber
- Another measurement: result 15dB
End: 10:00

The whole process was very well organized, all deadlines were met.
No appointments were canceled or postponed to another day.

It work was very professional and clean, everyone involved was very nice!

i am the owner of an apartment in a block of 15 apartments.

As I have seen in SFBB.gr, my street gets FTTH.
My question, do I need the permission of the other owners or of the building manager to have FTTH connected?

With natural gas, there is a law that I do not need approval of the other owners or of the manager, but at FTTH?

The manager is an old man who does not want to make any changes or modernizations. He is against LEDs and fire alarm systems. He will never agree with FTTH.
And the other owners are not interested.

i have a VDSL 50/5 connection from OTE.

With Fritz 7590 my speed is 33/5
with Fritz 7490 my speed is 42/5
and with Cosmote SpeedPort 2i my speed is 36/5

I dont know why, but the new Fritz is much slower in compared with the previous 7490. So i will continue with my old 7490.

In my opinion you have to connect your OTE Speedport, call 13888 to ask to set your line back to the default settings (maximum speed) - if this is done, purchase a 7490 and connect it.

The new vDSL Cabine is from Vodafone.
Next to this Cabine is the old OTE aDSL cabine.

I dont know why, vodafone cant offer me vDSL, OTE did it.
In any case, there is no reason to leave from OTE.

Vodafone has install last year in Kerkyras/Kastalias a vDSL Box. Max speed in my Place 100 Mbps. Yesterday i apply for vDSL 50 from COSMOTE. There confirm me today that i get connected in the next 5-7 days. If you apply for a OTE vDSL over Phone 13888, then the price is cheaper in compare with order the connection online from cosmote.gr. The online price is 35.50EUR per month, the price over phone is 32.20EUR per month.

Vodafone.gr says no vDSL available.
Cosmote.gr says vDSL available
Wind.gr says vDSL available

So, if you want to check if vDSL is already avaiable, you have to check it on COSMOTE, WIND and VODAFONE.

short update: I tried to call now over the days 13888 and 13788.

After 30 minutes of waiting, the line get disconnected.
If you count the waiting time over the last days, i was for sure waiting more then 3 or 4 hours.

Nobody take the phone of the technical department.
I am trying since 17 December 2018 to call the technical department.

I am really shocked because i remember the OTE Hotline was in the past always fast but something has changed.

Also i call them now at night (12.21am) in hope someone will pick up but.....

here is a guide how VOIP conversations can be recorded and saved.

It is probably not allowed to record conversations without consent.

Therefore, only record if your partner agrees with it ;)

You need a FritzBox with the software version 6.30 or newer.


INSTALL FRITZCAP AND USE IT.

Enable CALL MONITOR.
Connect a Phone / DECT Phone to your FritzBOX and call the follow code: #96*5*
Call Monitor is now active with the follow TCP Port: 1012

Install Python 2.7.14.
Python 3 is not working yet.

This command starts the recording and decoding of a VoIP call by hand. The files are stored in a dynamically generated directory. The recording is ended with CTRL + C.

No, i tried only 13888. My VOIP Phone and Internet is working fine. I apply for a second phone line with a second phone number. I see that the new phone number is already active and i need help to setup the new phone number in my router. I tried to call now 13788 but as i see, this phone number is only for connection frauds. Do you think this is the right phone number for my topic? Thank you!!

After waiting 30 minutes with music, the connection to 13888 is automatically disconnected.

The day before yesterday, yesterday and today I have each waited on phone 2x 30 minutes and then gave up (3 hours in total).

Some time ago, the hotline was first class, always quick help, but now?

i saw today workers of INALAN in Lesbou 69, Kypseli. They opened the road to lay cables.

The question is how vectoring was regulated by the EETT. In Germany e.g. Indoor Vectoring is permanently banned by the Telecommunications Authority. This means that users who are connected to an indoor DSLAM will not receive faster Internet access in the future either. That could become a problem in a few years. Now the speed is enough, but that will change pretty quickly in the future.

I think you are right. In some other countries, vectoring is only supported via the outdoor dslam too. I was hoping that it might be different in Greece. What about g.Fast, also only over Outdoor DSLAM?

i found out that my line is conntected to a Indoor DSLAM, because i stay near from the Αλυσιδα building.

There is no new Outdoor DSLAM for my building cause of the short distance.
I already have vDSL 50 since last year with a real Speed of 41Mbps/5Mbps.

My question: Is there any possibility to get Vectoring from a Indoor DSLAM in the near future, or is Vectoring only for Outdoor DSLAM users?
My distance to the Αλυσιδα building is 450-500 Meter.

Any possibility or hope to get a faster connection in the future?

but i have a FritzBox 7490 and it works perfect with OTE + VoIP.

The Download Speed is about 1 Mbps faster in compare with Speedport.

The most difficult of all was, to get the VOIP Password from 13888.
In any case, i got the VOIP Password by SMS and it works fine.

The SMS is receive was the follow:

But the line data are not good, strong line Attenuation and i lost 30000kpbs of speed in download and 4000kpbs speed in upload

In any case, OTE was planning to replace the KAFAO in my Road today, but because some cars was parking next to the KAFAO, OTE did nothing and add a paper with a new Date (tomorow)... but again some cars parking next to the KAFAO... i think all the process will need much longer, because my KAFAO is always full of cars (ignoring the OTE NO PARKING PAPER)...

I really hope, the Internet would be more better after all this stress... in any case i was happy before cuz i had vDSL with a speed of 40000 down and 5000 upload...

My vDSL and Phone in Skiathou are not working since last week. The Line is completely disconnected.
OTE told me that the telephone and the Internet will work earliest again from 26.01.2017 or later.

The Line Attenuation(Up/Down) are very high.
Also i lost a lot of speed,

I am very scared OTE cant fix this problem, because the vdsl line is still working (only much slower).
Also OTE cant tell me the problem, one guy told me the LINE got cut it, but if the line is cut it, why i have a connection?
