Τα 4 εκατομμύρια αγγίζουν οι χρήστες xDSL στην Ιαπωνία

Καταρχάς, να ζητήσω συγγνώμη που παρουσιάζω αυτή την είδηση και μας οδηγώ όλους μας σε κατάθλιψη , αλλά αξίζει να ξέρουμε και τι παίζεται στον κόσμο.

Σύμφωνα με επίσημη ανακοίνωση του ιαπωνικού υπουργείου τηλεπικοινωνιών (http://www.soumu.go.jp/joho_tsusin/eng/index.html), ο αριθμός των συνδρομητών σε υπηρεσίες xDSL στην Ιαπωνία και μέχρι τις 31 Αυγούστου, έφτασε τα 3.915.740 άτομα!

Να σημειωθεί εδώ, ότι στην χώρα αυτή έχει ξεκινήσει (αν και δεν έχω καταλάβει ακόμα εάν πρόκειται για πιλοτικό πρόγραμμα ή πλήρη εμπορική εκμετάλλευση) η διάθεση γραμμών xDSL με ταχύτητες 12 Mbps!!!

Japan's xDSL Subscribers Near 4 Mln. Mark, NTT Loses Share

September 12, 2002 -- According to the preliminary figure announced on Sept. 10 by the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications, the number of digital subscriber line (xDSL) subscribers in Japan reached 3,915,740 at the end of August.
This was about a 310,000 increase compared to the number at the end of July.
The number of subscribers that East and West for two regional companies of NTT -- NTT East Corp. and NTT West Corp. -- was 1,624,464, and other communications carriers hold 2,291,276 subscribers. This means that the total share of the NTT group companies was 41.5 percent, which is lower than the 42.0 percent share they had the previous month.
"Yahoo! BB" by BB Technologies Corp. has the larges share among other communications carriers. According to the announcement by Softbank Corp. on Sept. 9, the total number of "Yahoo! BB" subscribers at the end of August was 885,000, a 106,000 net increase from the previous month. The share within the non-NTT xDSL subscribers was 38.6 percent in accumulation. This was a small increase from the share it had at the end of July, which was 37.2 percent. Its total share, including NTT group companies, was 22.6 percent.
Since 2002, the number of xDSL subscribers has kept increasing by more than 300,000 every month. The net increase fell below 300,000 once in June, but it came back to the 300,000 level in July. If this level of increase continues, the number of subscribers would exceed 5 million by the end of this year.

Στην Ευρώπη μας (πλέον) η Γερμανία έρχεται πρώτη σε συνδρομητές xDSL με 2.000.000 συνδέσεις.
Στη Γερμανία, οι πελάτες της Deutsche Telekom που χρησιμοποιούν το σύστημα ADSL του τηλεπικοινωνιακού κολοσσού, ξεπέρασαν τα δύο εκατομμύρια, ενώ άλλοι 200 χιλιάδες περιμένουν να συνδεθούν. Η Deutsche Telekom προσφέρει υπηρεσίες DSL σε πολλές περιοχές της Γερμανίας, ενώ εγκαθιστά 70.000 νέες γραμμές κάθε εβδομάδα!!!!!!!!! 8O 8O 8O 8O

Στην Ελλάδα, η τεχνολογία xDSL αναμένεται ότι -λόγω του σχετικά υψηλού κόστους- θα απευθύνεται κυρίως σε επιχειρήσεις.
