μια απλή ερώτηση γιατί έχω μπερδευτεί... όταν κάνουμε setup το Speedtouch 585v6 (Connex) βάζουμε PPP over Ethernet ή over ATM?

Αν θες δοκίμασε και τα δυο..
Σε όποιο από τα δυο βλέπεις μεγαλύτερη ταχύτητα συγχρονισμού είναι καλύτερα
Γενικά το pppoE είναι καλύτερο προτόκολο.
Εδω εχει τα θετικά του pppoE και τα αρνητικά του ATM

When you have an router, you dont need 2 logins, and you dont need an PPP Driver on your system.

PPPoA will have better throughput, because of lower overhead. In PPPoE there are 8 byte for PPPoE, so MTU is 1492, but in PPPoA MTU is 1500 i think.

The Bitrate the Modem will synch with should not be different.

When i had 6912kbps in germany with the ISP Arcor, it was possible to use both, PPPoE and PPPoA. With PPPoE a maximum speed of 722KB/s was possible, and with PPPoA about 738KB/s.

Then afters DSLAM software update only PPPoE was possible. No ISP uses PPPoA in germany.
