Difficalty on calling Greece from overseas

Hello. The last couple of days I tried to call Athens from N.America, without success. Since I used VoIP, I am not sure whether the difficulty lies with my provider or with the current events in Athens ( as Callcentric claims). Does anyone else have similar experience?

Also, what are these messages that I get sometimes: "Please, do not hang up, your call is in the process of being connected", or something like that. Is it a scam, as Callcentric claims?

If you wish send me the number you tried to call via PM, I will try to verify it. From what you mention I suspect that number portability is the culprit.
