Επίσης, όσον αφορά στο subpixel rendering, πάνε στην σελίδα http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/subpixel.php για να δεις τι πρέπει να βάλεις για την οθόνη σου, σε μένα είναι πχ. το κλασικό rgb, γι' αυτό και έχω ενεργό εκείνο αντίστοιχα.

Ναι και εγώ το test του lagom είχα κάνει παλαιότερα και έχω το rgb ενεργοποιημένο. Όλες οι οθόνες μου μέχρι τώρα ήταν RGB σύμφωνα με το τεστ.

Αν έχετε οθόνη που κάνει pivot, δηλαδή περιστροφή κατά 90° για χρήση portrait, τότε γίνεται V-RGB σε αυτή τη θέση. Θα το καταλάβετε όμως ούτως ή άλλως γιατί θα χαλάσουν τα font με την περιστροφή.

Lol, έχω το Chrome σε μόνιμο zoom 120% και μέχρι να το υποψιαστώ, έσπαγα το κεφάλι μου να καταλάβω γιατί το screenshot σου ήταν τόσο θολό.

Εξαρτάται για ποιο DE μιλάς Για τπ KDE, δε θα το έλεγα και για το GNOME που λέγονται τα καλύτερα δεν έχω προσωπική άποψη.

Εύχομαι το plasma 5.10.x να φέρει σημαντικές βελτιώσεις.

Starting with Wine 2.0, Wine in Gentoo is transitioning away from its
traditional packaging and toward a new, split and slotted, Wine.

As many Wine users know, there are often regressions or an application
works better on one version of wine than another.  Going forward, 
packaging in Gentoo will allow simultaneous installation of multiple
versions of Wine.

Additionally, to expedite vanilla releases as well as permit multiple
configurations for each Wine installation, the major patchsets have
been split out into separate packages.

Going forward, app-emulation/wine will transition to:
app-emulation/wine-vanilla: upstream Wine with no external patchsets
             (like if the old packaging forced USE="-staging -d3d9")
app-emulation/wine-staging: Wine with Wine-Staging's patchset
             (like if the old packaging forced USE="+staging -d3d9")
app-emulation/wine-d3d9: Wine with Ixit's Gallium Nine patchset
             (like if the old packaging forced USE="-staging +d3d9")
app-emulation/wine-any: Wine with any of the patchsets or flags
             (exactly like the old packaging regarding USE flags)

wine-any exists to allow the user to build any combination that they'd
like (like the old packaging).  This means the user could use wine-any
to use both Wine-Staging and Gallium Nine.  Alternatively, the user
could use wine-any to try out another configuration from other
packages.  For example, the user could build wine-vanilla without
PulseAudio, and could build wine-any with PulseAudio.  The sky is the
limit on how a user may choose to use app-emulation/wine-any.

Users may opt for any specific package, or may emerge virtual/wine,
which is provided for dependency resolution.
Maintainers: Please note, app-emulation/wine will be dropped, so
please use virtual/wine going forward.

Users may call each version specifically, or may call a symlink based
on their installed patchset, for example wine-2.1, wine-staging-2.2,
or wine-d3d9.

Symlinks for wine are managed with app-eselect/eselect-wine.

Ναι το έχουν πει εδώ και καιρό (ή τουλάχιστον το έγραψαν στο wiki για όσους παρακολουθούμε τις αλλαγές του).

Κατ' εμέ είναι τσάμπα μανούρα να κάνουν maintain 4 ebuilds όταν τα staging, d3d9 μπορούν να απενεργοποιηθούν από το winecfg αλλά προφανώς κάτι θα ξέρουν για να το κάνουν έτσι. Θα μου πεις είναι κόπος να τρέχεις winecfg και να το αλλάζεις κάθε φορά ανάλογα με την εφαρμογή που θέλεις να τρέξεις αλλά αφενός είναι το ίδιο κόπος να τρέχεις eselect και να αλλάζεις από εκεί, αφετέρου μπορείς να έχεις τις εφαρμογές σε ξεχωριστό prefix όπως κάνουμε οι περισσότεροι οπότε θα το σετάρεις μια φορά και θα ξενοιάσεις.

Το βασικό πλεονέκτημα με την νέα διαρρύθμιση θα είναι ότι όσοι δεν παίζουν παιχνίδια και έτσι δεν χρειάζονται τα συγκεκριμένα patches, θα μπορούν να έχουν νέες εκδόσεις wine 2-3 ημέρες μετά την release αντί να περιμένουν μία εβδομάδα και βάλε για να βγουν τα patches και να μπει στην portage το ebuild.

Τι γίνεται με το ψιλομπάχαλο που έγινε πρόσφατα με την perl 5.24 που μπήκε stable και τα πολλαπλά blocks; Άλλα πακέτα απαιτούν την 5.22, άλλα την 5.24.

It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously.  If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
