Λοιπόν έχω έναν εκτυπωτή HP deskjet 640c και προσπαθώ να τον σετάρω σε arch linux αλλά μάταια .Ότι και αν κάνω το cups βγάζει μήνυμα λάθους "/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp failed".
Ο εκτυπωτής είναι συνδεδεμένος στην παράλληλη θύρα.Προσπαθώ να τον εγκαταστήσω τρέχοντας την εντολή hp-setup -gi ως root αλλά χωρίς επιτυχία.
Δοκίμασα την ίδια ακριβώς διαδικασία και με ένα ubuntu live cd και ο εκτυπωτής δούλεψε μια χαρά.Τι στο καλό πάει στράβα;

Εγκατέστησε το πακέτο hplip, μετά επισκέψου την σελίδα localhost:631 για να σετάρεις τον εκτυπωτή σου.

Σε παράλληλη τον σύνδεσες; Δεν συνδέεται σε USB ή Ethernet;

Δεν τα έχω καλώδια για usb και ethernet μόνο για παράλληλη ...
Πριν κάνα δυό μήνες κατάφερα να τον σετάρω στο arch αλλά έκανα ένα φορμάτ γιατί ήθελα να ξαναστήσω το pc και δεν κράτησα αντίγραφο των conf files ούτε και θυμάμαι πως κατάφερα να τον σετάρω...
