Αν αφήσουμε τους Ιρανούς ή τους Ρώσους ή τους Κινέζους ή οποιονδήποτε άλλον να αποκτήσουν πρόσβαση σε πόρους που και εμείς διεκδικούμε, δε θα ζήσουμε με κάποιον τρόπο καλύτερα. Αν ο δυτικός κόσμος χάσει την πρωτοκαθεδρία στον πλανήτη, μη νομίζουμε ότι οι άλλοι θα πούνε ας κάτσουμε εμείς με τα λίγα, ας αφήσουμε τους δυτικούς όπως ήτανε.

Οπότε λοιπόν, ας μην κάνουμε βλακώδεις κινήσεις στην σκακιέρα λόγω δακρύων. Επίσης, ας αφήσουμε στην άκρη της παπαριές περί ανθρωπισμού, σωστών πλευρών της ιστορίας κλπ. Ο Πούτιν είπε στους Ρώσους: "Πολεμούμε για έναν πολυπολικό κόσμο, ενάντια στην πρωτοκαθεδρία της δύσης." Οκ, κανένα πρόβλημα. Ελάτε να τα πάρετε θα πρέπει να είναι η απάντηση, αν τα θέλετε.

Και μολις γκρεμισες ολο το αφηγημα περι δημοκρατιας, ανθρωπινων δικαιωματων και ισοτητας τα οποια υποτιθεται ηταν το αξιακο υποβαθρο πανω στο οποιο βασιστηκε το οικοδομημα της Δυσης τουλαχιστον μετα τον β' παγκοσμιο και ο βασικος λογς που υπερειχε απο τους αλλους. Στην ουσια βεβαια δεν αλλαξε τιποτα απο την εποχη της αποικιοκρατιας, με την διαφορα πως ακομα και τοτε ειχαν αφηγημα περι κατωτεροτητας των υποδουλομενων λαων. Επειδη το ιδεολογικο υποβαθρο ειναι παντα απαιραιτητο, και εφοσον λοιπον δεν μπορουν πλεον να υποστηριξουν την παλια (υποκριτικη) ιδεολογια θα την αντικαταστησουν με κατι αλλο. Οχι θα, ηδη το κανουν. Για αυτο προωθειται ο φασισμος, ο ναζισμος και ολες οι ακροδεξιες ιδεολογιες, οπως ακριβως εγινε την τελευταια φορα που η οικονομικη ελιτ τα βρηκε σκουρα. Το ερωτημα ειναι εσενα σαν απλο πολιτη σε συμφερει;

Και επισης δεν καταλαβαινω γιατι χρησιμοποιεις εμεις για την τελευταια τρυπα του ζουρνα που ειναι η Ελλαδα. Αν το γυρισουμε σε ζουγκλα που βασιλευει ενας, για ποιο λογο να σε συμπεριλαβουν στην μοιρασια; Δεν βλεπεις πως ηδη ο ηγεμονας εχει αρχισει και ξεζουμιζει τους υποτακτικους; Αντιθετα χωρες σαν την Ελλαδα μονο να κερδισουν εχουν απο ενα πολυπολικο κοσμο. Βασικα το ιδιο ισχυει και για τον απλο λαο που ζει και στις "ισχυρες" χωρες.

Αρχικά, έχει ενδιαφέρον που η συζητήση γύρισε στο τι μας συμφέρει και τι όχι. Οπότε, σε επίπεδο στρατηγικής, βλέπω ότι σε αυτή τη φάση, το να αφήσεις χώρο στις άλλες πλευρές οικιοθελώς, δίχως να πάρεις σοβαρά ανταλλάγματα, δεν οδηγεί σε κάποιο δρόμο στον οποίο θα ζήσουμε με καλύτερη ποιότητα ζωής απ' ότι σήμερα. Αν τα ανταλλάγματα είναι σοβαρά, του επιπέδου περιορισμός των εξοπλισμών σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, αποστρατιωτικοποιήσεις, συνεκμεταλεύσεις πχ. της Σιβηρίας και και και, οκ έχει νόημα η στρατηγική της ανταλλαγής. Αλλά ανταλλαγή - όχι παραχώρηση. Κάτι πρέπει να κερδίσουμε εμείς, για να αφήσουμε να κερδίσουν κάτι και οι άλλοι. Κάθε κίνηση να είναι αμοιβαία επωφελής. Όπως και τον πολυπολικό κόσμο τον ακούω. Αλλά να συζητήσουμε για ένα πλαίσιο του τι θα πάρουμε ως αντάλλαγμα από μια τέτοια στρατηγική και τι θα χρειαστεί να χάσουμε.

Σόρρυ που χαλάω το ρομαντισμό, αλλά το μόνο ιστορικό προηγούμενο που διαθέτουμε στη γνωστή ιστορία της εξέλιξης των ειδών, είναι ο ανταγωνισμός μεταξύ των έμβιων όντων του πλανήτη. Δε λέω, μακάρι κάποια στιγμή να φτάσουμε σε μια ιδανική ανθρώπινη κοινωνία, με ιδανικά έμβοια όντα, που δε ζηλεύουν, δε θέλουν παραπάνω, ενώ ταυτόχρονα προχωρούν στην ανάπτυξη του είδους τους. Αλλά, βάση όποιας θεωρίας αποδεχόμαστε επιστημονικά μέχρι στιγμής, ο ανταγωνισμός είναι η κινητήριο δύναμη. Ο Μαρξ για παράδειγμα μιλάει για πάλη των τάξεων.

Άρα ο στόχος όλων των αποφάσεων του ανθρώπου είναι πως θα ζήσει ο ίδιος καλύτερα. Όλα τα υπόλοιπα, όπως η κοινωνική οργάνωση και οι συμφωνίες μεταξύ ατόμων απορρέουν από αυτό το στόχο. Το να μη θέλω να γίνονται πόλεμοι και να σκοτώνονται άνθρωποι, απορρέει κατά κύριο λόγο από το στόχο μου να μη βρεθώ εγώ σε πόλεμο και άρα να ζήσω καλύτερα. Όχι από κάποιο ανώτατο ιδανικό, που γενικά και αόριστα δε θέλει να σκοτώνονται άνθρωποι.

Οπότε, αν χάνοντας εγώ το iPhone μου (που δεν έχω), δεν κερδίζω απολύτως τίποτα, η μόνη αποδεδειγμένη απάντηση που δίνει η ιστορία μέχρι σήμερα, είναι iPhone και πάλι iPhone.

Israeli officials seize AP equipment and take down live shot of northern Gaza, citing new media law

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli officials seized a camera and broadcasting equipment belonging to The Associated Press in southern Israel on Tuesday, accusing the news organization of violating a new media law by providing images to Al Jazeera.

The Qatari satellite channel is among thousands of clients that receive live video feeds from the AP and other news organizations. The AP denounced the move.

“The Associated Press decries in the strongest terms the actions of the Israeli government to shut down our longstanding live feed showing a view into Gaza and seize AP equipment,” said Lauren Easton, vice president of corporate communications at the news organization. “The shutdown was not based on the content of the feed but rather an abusive use by the Israeli government of the country’s new foreign broadcaster law. We urge the Israeli authorities to return our equipment and enable us to reinstate our live feed immediately so we can continue to provide this important visual journalism to thousands of media outlets around the world.”

Officials from the Communications Ministry arrived at the AP location in the southern town of Sderot on Tuesday afternoon and seized the equipment. They handed the AP a piece of paper, signed by Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, alleging it was violating the country’s foreign broadcaster law.

Shortly before the equipment was seized, it was broadcasting a general view of northern Gaza. The AP complies with Israel’s military censorship rules, which prohibit broadcasts of details like troops movements that could endanger soldiers. The live shot has generally shown smoke rising over the territory.

The seizure followed a verbal order Thursday to cease the live transmission — which the news organization refused to do.

“In accordance with the government decision and the instruction of the communications minister, the communications ministry will continue to take whatever enforcement action is required to limit broadcasts that harm the security of the state,” the ministry said in a statement.

Israeli officials used the law to close down the offices of the Qatar-based broadcaster on May 5 as well as confiscating the channel’s equipment, banning its broadcasts, and blocking its websites.

Ιsrael has long had a rocky relationship with Al Jazeera, accusing it of bias against the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called it a “terror channel” that spreads incitement.

Al Jazeera is one of the few international news outlets that has remained in Gaza throughout the war, broadcasting scenes of airstrikes and overcrowded hospitals and accusing Israel of massacres.

The war in Gaza began with a Hamas attack in Israel that killed 1,200 people and saw 250 others taken hostage. More than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed since then, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which doesn’t distinguish between civilians and combatants in its count.

Her pants had been pulled down below her waist. He thought that was evidence of sexual violence.

An Israeli human rights group is walking back its endorsement of Israel’s evidence-free claims of a systematic campaign of sexual violence by Hamas fighters on 7 October.

The “position paper” published by Physicians for Human Rights-Israel in November had served for months as a key talking point for Israeli propagandists.

“It is becoming more apparent that the violence perpetrated against women, men and children also included widespread sexual and gender-based crimes,” the position paper claimed.

But now, the human rights group aims to absolve itself of the damage its irresponsible claims have done, offering justifications and excuses for why it published a report riddled with falsehoods that have been used to justify and fuel Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

“In the extensive investigations conducted in the months following the publication of the position paper in November, some testimonies referenced within it have been disputed or deemed unverifiable, and more may face similar scrutiny in the future,” Physicians for Human Rights-Israel said this month in a “clarification” statement it has also added to the online version of its November report.

“We regret their inclusion in the position paper,” the group states, claiming that “a substantial portion of the information that is now available was not accessible when the document was originally drafted.”

Face-saving spin

Physicians for Human Rights-Israel also acknowledges that it “lacks the sufficient staffing, resources or professional tools required to carry out the thorough and competent investigation” of the kind it advocated in its November paper.

It now claims that its call did help “prompt an investigation by a professional body – a team led by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Ms. Pramila Patten.”

This however is just more face-saving spin.

Israel and its propagandists paraded the report issued by the Patten team in early March as a UN endorsement of their mass rape lies – something that was made easier by how the UN authors bent over backwards in their attempts to lend credence to the Israeli claims.

But the Patten team had no mandate to carry out an independent investigation, and relied almost entirely on information provided by Israel and Israeli organizations, including proven liars and fabricators such as the Jewish extremist group ZAKA.

And in fact, despite the way the UN report was spun in mainstream media, the Patten team ended up debunking many of the most sensational Israeli claims related to sexual violence, as we demonstrated on a recent episode of The Electronic Intifada Livestream.

For instance, members of the UN team examined thousands of photos and videos provided to them by Israel and concluded that “no tangible indications of rape could be identified.”

The Patten team also acknowledged that some of the most widely disseminated and sensational Israeli atrocity claims, those said to have occurred in Kibbutz Be’eri, were “unfounded.”

“Overall, the mission team was unable to establish whether sexual violence occurred in Kibbutz Be’eri,” the UN report states – generous wording calculated to mask the fact that the UN team saw no credible evidence.
Patten shies away

While initially happy to be used by Israel, Pramila Patten – not an independent actor, but a political appointee of the UN secretary-general – now appears to be shying away from being the UN face of Tel Aviv’s atrocity propaganda.

Until recently Israel’s darling, Patten apparently displeased the genocidal regime’s diplomats in New York last week when she pulled out of a UN Security Council briefing organized by the US government, titled, “Condemning hostage-taking in Israel on October 7 as a psychological tool of terrorism.”

The session went ahead without Patten, and was predictably used as a platform for Israeli atrocity propaganda including the baseless rape claims.
Hiding behind UN report

In backing away from its irresponsible November report, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel still asserts “that due to the fragmented nature of traumatic memories, they are often expressed in incomplete, confused or contradictory ways. Therefore, it is neither accurate nor just for persons lacking the required expertise and tools to assess the credibility of witnesses.”

“Accordingly, moving forward, we will rely on the Patten report and, when available, additional reports and documents produced by competent investigative bodies,” the group states. “We will continue to monitor their findings and reports while drawing necessary professional conclusions.”

It is unclear what other “competent investigative bodies” Physicians for Human Rights-Israel may be referring to, since no credible independent investigations are known to be taking place.

One widely touted initiative, a so-called “civil commission” to investigate alleged sexual crimes on 7 October, has been exposed by Israeli media as a fraud.

Hiding behind the Patten report in this manner amounts to a rejection of the role of independent journalists whose work proved instrumental in debunking the false atrocity tales that Physicians for Human Rights-Israel itself initially helped disseminate.

Physicians for Human Rights-Israel should instead acknowledge that it did not take special expertise to expose Israel’s lies, and that independent journalists had done so long before Patten’s “professional” team confirmed their findings.

It merely took consistent attention to the evidence – or lack of it – and unwillingness to be swept up in mass delirium.

Too little, too late

After more than seven months of the Israeli genocide in Gaza – a word Physicians for Human Rights-Israel still refuses to use – the group acknowledges that “the Israeli government and other entities have been exploiting reports of sexual violence in a manipulative and cynical manner.”

It adds: “Sexual violence and allegations of sexual violence must never be weaponized as tools of warfare or propaganda.”

Too little, too late!

Despite being an Israeli organization, it is worth acknowledging that for many years, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel played a consistent role in supporting Palestinians who have waged prolonged hunger strikes against their imprisonment without charge or trial by Israel.

The credibility and trust Physicians for Human Rights-Israel may have built up through that work over many years has taken a severe, possibly fatal blow.

The damage to Physicians for Human Rights-Israel’s reputation will not be repaired – if it can be at all – by this partial and qualified mea culpa over its role in spreading genocidal, anti-Palestinian atrocity propaganda on behalf of the Tel Aviv regime.

An Israeli human rights group is walking back its endorsement of Israel’s evidence-free claims of a systematic campaign of sexual violence by Hamas fighters on 7 October.

The “position paper” published by Physicians for Human Rights-Israel in November had served for months as a key talking point for Israeli propagandists.

“It is becoming more apparent that the violence perpetrated against women, men and children also included widespread sexual and gender-based crimes,” the position paper claimed.

But now, the human rights group aims to absolve itself of the damage its irresponsible claims have done, offering justifications and excuses for why it published a report riddled with falsehoods that have been used to justify and fuel Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
